Tesla has already received nearly 400,000 orders for the Model 3

The manufacturer of electric cars plans to produce 500,000 vehicles a year but the commercial success of the Model 3 may require reformulating some projections.

After finally present the first details of the Tesla Model 3 at the end of last March, Elon Musk revealed Thursday during a conference in Norway, which are already almost 400,000 pre-orders received by the brand to its most model cheap forever.

The CEO also said he is "surprised" by the size of the numbers.

A week after the start of pre-bookings they had already reached the 325,000 orders Tesla, a figure surpassed by double the expectations of the US company.

This new electric model of the Tesla will cost $ 35,000 (about 31,000 euros) and guarantees an autonomy of 346 kilometers after each charging.

Deliveries should start to be shipped in 2017, according to the initial forecasts of Tesla. The high number of orders may force the company to reformulate the first estimates of the annual production of the vehicle, when the process came into cruising speed.
